WHAT IS REIKI THERAPY?

Reiki is an Energy therapy. It’s an approach to healing that treats the subtle energy patterns of the body. The goal is to relieve stress, anxiety, ease pain and the unpleasant and painful symptoms of illness. Energy Therapy is gentle, non-invasive and does not interfere with conventional treatments in any way. Many clients have reported that Energy Therapy has brought relief from specific symptoms, improving their appetite, mood, sleep patterns and vitality, enhancing their quality of life in general.The umbrella term of Energy Therapy covers Reiki, healing touch, and other interventions that work
with the body’s energy field.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The human body is made of a symphony of energies that move within and around the body. When the body is healthy, the energies move freely in a variety of patterns. However, this changes when the body is sick and/or is undergoing treatment or even when the body is exposed to stress or pollutants in the environment and atmosphere. When this happens the normal energy pathways are diverted or stalled. An Energy Therapy practitioner uses his or her hands to gently
coax a client’s energy to flow in more functional ways, which can bring significant relief of many symptoms.

WHAT HAPPENDS IN A SESSION?

Clients can be treated while they are seated, standing, or lying down.The positioning of the body depends on the client’s stamina and the procedure being administered. Clients remain fully clothed during a session and are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothes. A practitioner might lightly hold certain “energy points” on the patient with his or her fingers, move his or her hands around the client’s body in certain ways or direct the client in simple breathing movement exercises. There are several techniques designed to restore energy flows to healthier patterns. No two sessions are exactly alike. WILL THERE BE MORE THAN ONE SESSION?

Just as people have behavioral habits that take time to
change, they also have “energy habits” which may need work. In fact, these energy habits may need to be changed repeatedly before healthier patterns take hold and become the new normal. For this reason, clients typically receive more benefits from multiple sessions over time.
